Deauville Apartments is home to 101 families in Takoma Park — many of whom are longtime residents, essential workers, seniors on fixed incomes, and young families working to build stability. With rents restricted at 50–60% of AMI, the property provides one of the few remaining affordable housing options in a part of Montgomery County where rising costs have pushed many households out of the community they’ve called home for years. When Deauville was at risk of transitioning out of affordability, CHS partnered with the County to step in and preserve it, ensuring residents could remain in place without facing displacement or sudden rent increases. This acquisition wasn’t just about saving a building — it was about protecting roots, keeping children in their schools, keeping caregivers near the people they serve, and keeping neighbors connected to the community that supports them.
